Sub: Commercial Space in India Pavilion at Expo 2010, Shanghai, China
        (May 01 - October 31, 2010).

India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)has been entrusted the task of setting up of at Expo 2010 (1st May, 2010 to 31st October, 2010), Shanghai, Chinaon behalf of Government of India. A plot of 4,000 sq. mtrs. (80 mtr. X 50 mtr.) has been allotted for setting up of India Pavilion in Zone ‘A’ located on Eastern side of Huangpu River. About 70 million visitors are estimated to visit the Expo spread over a period of six months.

The theme of the Shanghai Expo is “Better City, Better Life”. Construction, decoration and the content of display in India Pavilion is to be developed keeping in view of the Theme/Sub-Themes. The proposed theme of India Pavilion is “Cities of Harmony”with sub-Themes: (i). Cultural Diversity and Harmony in Urban India (ii). Technology and Tradition in Urban India (iii). Integration of Rural and Urban India, and (iv). Providing affordable Urban Amenities to all Sections of Society.

In the area earmarked for commercial activities ( shops/catering services), inside the India Pavilion there will be 14 number of shops and two restaurants. As per Expo guidelines, the shops will be for specialized goods of the country, mainly, pictures, post cards, books, stamps, audio- visual products, souvenirs and handicrafts. Similarly, the restaurants will offer the delicacies and cuisine of the country. Bidders are advised to refer to official website (www. Expo2010china.com/www.expo2010.cn) of Expo authorities with respect to different liabilities of successful bidders.

The sealed bids are invited for the commercial space i.e. shops and restaurants for operation during the period of May 01, 2010 to October 31, 2010. Interested companies may obtain the bid document by paying Rs. 1000.00 (non refundable) through Cash/Demand Draft drawn in favour of India Trade Promotion Organisation payable at New Delhi from the office of the General Manager (TDMD), India Trade Promotion Organisation, Room No. 108, Pragati Bhawan, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi – 110 001. Indian Company based outside India will remit the above amount in equivalent US$/Euro through demand draft drawn in favour of India Trade Promotion Organisation, payable at New York/Frankfurt.

The bids in sealed envelops should be addressed to the General Manager (TDMD) and sent by post/submitted, so as to reach India Trade Promotion Organisation ( Room No 224), Pragati Bhawan, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi – 110001, upto 03:00 PM on 18th February 2010 alongwith Earnest Money(EMD) of Rs. 5.00 lakhs for each shop and Rs. 20.00 lakhs for each Restaurant through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of India Trade Promotion Organisation payable at New Delhi, in a separate envelope. The amount of EMD can also be paid in equivalent US$/Euro through demand draft drawn in favour of India Trade Promotion Organisation payable at New York/Frankfurt. Service tax at prevailing rates ( @10.30 at present) will be applicable for payments made in Indian Rupees. However, no service tax will apply for payments made in foreign exchange. The bids not accompanying with the Earnest Money in the prescribed format shall be rejected. In respect of successful bidders, the EMD will be adjusted against payment of Ist installment. Bids received after the due date and time shall not be considered. The Bids will be opened on 18th February 2010 at 3.30 PM.

Details of the tender document are also available on the website www.indiatradefair.com. Those who download the Tender document from the website, shall pay the cost of the Tender document through a bank draft at the time of submission of the application either in IRs./US$/Euro.

ITPO reserves the right to reject any or all the bids without assigning any reason whatsoever at any point of time.
