FOCUS ON A COORDINATED CAMPAIGN OF NATIONAL ISSUES & CSR INITIATIVES
Focusing on an urgent need for an efficient coordination through effective multimedia publicity and information campaign on important socio-economic issues, the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee(IMPCC) meeting of Government Media Organisations held at the International Business Lounge, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on July 26, 2012. The meeting was hosted by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
This well attended meeting was chaired by Shri Ghanshyam Goel, Additional Director General, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity(DAVP), Government of India . While speaking at the meeting, he emphasized to open new avenues for effective coordination and communication among the official media and its convergence with the local media. Complimenting ITPO and other IMPCC member departments for their meaningful efforts for a national cause, he pointed out that IMPCC is a useful forum for putting together the ideas regarding promotional strategies of different Central and State Government Departments , Public Sector Undertakings to adopt the publicity campaign of a chosen theme of national significance.
The meeting was commenced with a power point presentation of the ITPO by Shri P.C. Sharma, General Manager , ITPO. In his corporate presentation, he briefed about the ITPO’s contribution as the nodal trade promotion agency of the country. He informed about the CSR initiatives of ITPO, a public sector enterprises which has been playing a pioneering role in the bringing the Indian businesses particularly those in the SMEs sector closer to the global market. He also informed that with updated convention facilities , Pragati Maidan is gradually becoming an ideal venue for specialized B2B exhibitions and business conventions.
Representatives from other departments also briefed about various activities and programmes they wished to propagate with the help of media units. Senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, DAVP, Directorate of Film Festivals, ITPO, Song & Drama Division, MSTC, Doordarshan, All India Radio- News Service Division, External Services Division and Delhi Station attended the meeting.
