“A New Roadmap for TPO’s in the Globally Connected Markets”- Theme of 26th Meet
India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) will host the 26th Meeting of the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the member Trade Promotion Organisations (TPOs) of the Asian Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF) in India next year. The event is expected to be hosted at New Delhi or a nearby city during March 2013 and the venue and dates will be shortly decided by ITPO.
ATPF is an organization of TPOs in the Asian Region and currently has 23 members. India is one of the founder members of the organisation which was established in 1987. The objective of ATPF is to enhance trade in the region through information exchange, implementation of cooperative projects and strengthening networks among ATPF members. The ATPF Secretariat is operated by Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) at Tokyo.
India’s proposal to host the 26th ATPF CEO Meeting and theme proposed by ITPO for the meeting “A New Roadmap for TPO’s in the Globally Connected Markets” were approved at the 25th ATPF CEO’s Meeting held at the Bangkok during April, 2012. The 25th meeting was hosted by Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) of Thailand and CEOs from 20 member Trade Promotion Organisations (TPOs) including Ms. Rita Menon, Chairman and Managing Director of ITPO attended.
Ms.Rita Menon was among CEOs of member TPOs who made presentations at the panel discussion on “Role of TPOs in Preparing SMEs for Future Challenges” in the 25th CEO’s meeting. Ms. Menon in her presentatation emphasized the role of SMEs in the country’s future and ITPO’s programs for development of SMEs through trade fairs, seminars, buying delegations and information dissemination.
